Where are you located?

We are a foster-based rescue without a shelter residence located in the Grand Strand/South Strand area of beautiful South Carolina. All of our communication is done through our website and social media. We attend adoption events throughout the year. Meet-and-greet visits with potential fosters and adopters are arranged at an agreed upon location.

How do I find information on an adoptable pet?

Our website will be continually updated with pictures and information on all of our available animals. The adoption fee is $200 for each of our pets. This helps in covering shots, surgeries needed, and medications.

How long should I expect to wait to hear back after completing an adoption or foster application?

Please allow up to 48 hours to hear back from us. Someone at SDSAR will follow up with you.

Where do your rescues come from?

Our seniors come from animal control, owner surrenders and other animal rescues.

Do you also include cats in your rescue program?

Currently we are only focused on senior dog adoptions but we plan to include cats as well in the future!

I am interested in fostering but I need to understand more about the commitment.

What are the provisions I am responsible for as a foster?

We take care of all necessary medical needs and ask that you provide the food. If this is a difficulty for you we will be happy to also include this as well.

What if I decide to adopt my foster?

You would notify us and, provided an adoption was not already under way, you would sign an adoption agreement along with the $200 adoption fee and have a new family member!
